WBAA: Purdue football defeats Toledo (2009-09-05)

Purdue football started Danny Hope's head coaching career with a win.

The Boilermakers defeated Toledo 52-to-31 Saturday afternoon.

The Boilers dominated the rushing game, gaining more than 300 yards on the ground.

Hope says a strong front on offense can create opportunities for points.

Sophomore running back Ralph Bolden led the team with 234 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Kicker Carson Wiggs added a Purdue record 59 yard field goal at the end of the first half.

The Boilermakers travel to Oregon next week.
