Indiana's unemployment up slightly INDIANAPOLIS, IN (wbaa) - Indiana's unemployment rate rose slightly in October.

It's now 9.8 percent, while the national unemployment rate is 10.2 percent.

Despite last month's increase, over the past four months, the number of Hoosiers out of work has dropped.

Indiana Department of Workforce Development Commissioner Teresa Voors says even though the state is bucking the national trend, she's cautious about the coming months.

She says that's due to projections of a poor holiday retail season and a slump in manufacturing and hospitality jobs. © Copyright 2012, wbaa
