New hiring policy in place for Tippecanoe Co. government LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - Tippecanoe County is changing the way it fills vacant positions. Under the new policy, posting requests will include the job function, funding source and whether it relates to public safety, among other things.

Commissioner Tom Murtaugh says those posting requests would then be reviewed by a committee, which would make a recommendation to the commission. He says some vacancies may go unfilled, or it may prompt cross-training opportunities for others in the department.
