Republican primary shaping up for Buyer's seat INDIANAPOLIS, IN (wbaa) - Republicans will have a primary battle for the opportunity to replace Steve Buyer in Ccongress.

Three days after the incumbent announced he d give up the seat, secretary of state Todd Rokita has announced he ll run for the job.

So has Buyer s district director, state senator Brandt Hershman, who says he s not concerned about building name recognition beyond his senate district.

Hershman says he has Buyer s endorsement.

A political unknown, Cheryl Allen of Martinsville, is also running.

And Indianapolis senator Mike Young, who lost a primary challenge to Buyer in 2002, says he ll make a decision by the end of the week.
