LAFAYETTE, IN
(wbaa) -
The Lafayette Urban Ministry is hoping to raise $2.8-million to fund programs and capital improvements to benefit those in need.LUM executive director Joe Micon says the Campaign for the Future has already brought in roughly $1.9-million.
He says many of the new programs are designed to provide academic resources for low-income students.
Micon says other offerings will be a first-time-homeowners class and a small-business start-up class.
He says capital improvements include renovating the LUM building to make a Youth Program Center, health and safety improvements to the emergency shelter, and a new playground.
