Citizens create a PAC to support WLCSC tax referendum question WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - A group of citizens has formed the "Friends of West Lafayette Community Schools" political action committee, or PAC.

They hope to garner support concerning an upcoming vote for a tax referendum meant to help the west side schools.

Committee chair Sonya Margerum says the group is not yet sure how much money will be needed to make an impact.

She wants anyone who can volunteer to contact her or the corporation.

The West Lafayette school board allowed the referendum question to move forward during a meeting earlier this month.

School officials are asking for no more than 43 cents per $100 assessed valuation. © Copyright 2012, wbaa
