WEST LAFAYETTE, IN
(wbaa) -
The West Lafayette School Corporation will be sending a mailer to residents within the district discussing a tax referendum. The flier is meant to give school officials a better idea of how willing the public is to support the corporation through property taxes.
Superintendent Rocky Killion says the overall response has been positive so far, but landlords in the area have expressed some opposition.
School officials are considering a $3 to $6 million referendum over a seven year period. The numbers come from a study performed by two Purdue economists.
More information about the referendum and the report by Larry DeBoer and David Hummels can be found at isupportwlcs.com.
A final public forum will be held on November 18th at the West Lafayette Junior-Senior High school. © Copyright 2012, wbaa
