TC Sheriff reports no major problems during phone outage TIPPECANOE COUNTY, IN (wbaa) - Tippecanoe County Sheriff Tracy Brown says the department's 9-1-1 service operated as hoped this morning when phone lines went down.

He says the emergency calls rolled over to Lafayette Police until the problem was fixed.

Brown says both the in-house and 9-1-1 phone lines at the Sheriff's Department's Duncan Road facility were out for about four hours beginning at about 5:40 a-m.

He says Verizon believes the service interruption was caused by a power outage in the area, but is still trying to pinpoint the source of the problem.
