Wabash National reports loss for second quarter LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - Wabash National's efforts to reduce costs are paying off, but the company is still reporting a quarterly loss.

The trailer manufacturer is showing costs outpaced sales by $18 million for April through June.

At the end of last year, Wabash National reported an $87 million loss.

CEO Dick Giromini says a transformation project the Lafayette plant, lower raw material prices, and job and salary cuts have helped control costs.

An investment firm also is pumping $35 million into the company.
