Wabash National launching new product LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - The Lafayette manufacturer hopes a new product will help its bottom line.

Wabash National is launching AeroSkirt as part of its DuraPlate line.

The device is installed on the sides of a trailer and is designed to improve fuel efficiency.

The U.S. E.P.A.'s SmartWay program, which reviews more fuel efficient transportation options, is giving its seal of approval.

Wabash National reports there are about 360,000 Duraplate trailers currently on the road and an AeroSkirt can be installed on most of its models.
