(2009-07-02)
INDIANAPOLIS, IN
(wbaa) -
Indiana residents receiving unemployment benefits have more rules to comply with in order to receive funds. They must apply to at least one job each week and look at two others.
Workforce Development Spokesman Marc Lotter says these changes will not affect most of the unemployed.
Lotter says companies will begin paying higher unemployment taxes in January.
After four weeks of unemployment Hoosiers must take an offer which pays a minimum of 90% of their previous salary.
Following eight weeks that number drops to 80%. © Copyright 2012, wbaa
