Wabash National reports 4th quarter loss
(2009-02-17)
(wbaa) - Wabash National is reporting significant losses for the fourth quarter of 2008.

The Lafayette-based truck-trailer manufacturer had a net loss of nearly 111-million dollars.

That compares to a net gain of $5.5-million, during the same period of 2007.

President and CEO Dick Giromini says an extended annual shutdown during the holiday season is partly to blame for the poor performance.

He says the company continues to take cost saving actions including staffing reductions, base salary reductions of 10% for officers and associates, and cancelled or delayed development and capital projects.

In addition to its fourth quarter financials, Wabash National also announced yesterday that William Greubel is resigning as a member of its Board of Directors effective February 12th.

Greubel has been with the company since 2002, serving as President and CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and most recently as Director.
