Purdue professor attends U.S. Islamic World Forum WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - The 2009 U.S. Islamic World Forum in the Middle East will include a Purdue professor.

Dan Hirleman says the event will cover such things as science, the arts, and politics.

The head of the School of Mechanical Engineering wants to build relationships with peers in Islamic nations, which will benefit Purdue students.

Hirleman says organizers hope to raise the level of science and technology industries in the Middle East.

Hirleman will be taking part in the Science and Technology Leaders Workshops at the forum, but is looking forward to attending panel discussions on other topics. © Copyright 2012, wbaa
