WBAA: Ivy Tech anticipates accreditation (2008-06-16)

The Higher Learning Commission is coming to evaluate Ivy Tech starting in 2009.

The college is looking to be accredited by the commission in the same way Purdue, IU and many other schools are.

Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Mary Ostrye says accreditation is very important for Ivy Tech.

She says the commission has a lot to consider in the assessment process.

Officials at Ivy Tech understand the benefits of being accredited, and have been preparing for the commission visit over the past two years.
