Eli Lilly to cut 500 jobs
(2008-04-16)
INDIANAPOLIS, IN
(wbaa) -
Eli Lilly is cutting up to 500 jobs at its Indianapolis location. The pharmaceutical company announced Wednesday the goal of making its manufacturing operations more efficient.
Spokesperson Ed Sagebiel says the reduction will be through a voluntary exit program.
He says most of the employee cuts will be in the manufacturing sector with a few in research and development.
The move comes after the company decided to terminate its air insulin program and stop the manufacturing of those medications.
