Lafayette Manufacturer Buidling New Facility in KY
(2008-02-28)
(wbaa) - Wabash National is building a new facility in Kentucky and revamping its Lafayette plant.

The truck trailer company reports the Franklin, Kentucky facility will be built later this year or in early 2009, depending on the market outlook. It's expected to cost about $25 million.

Improvements to its Lafayette facilities are designed to streamline production flow and enhance manufacturing efficiency.

President and CEO Dick Giromini says the end result also will allow Wabash National to take on new strategic growth initiatives.

He says the demand for trailers is expected to increase over the next 12-to-24 months.

Giromini says Wabash National will be positioned to take full advantage of the market with these two new initiatives.
