I-Step Results Show Slight Improvement
(2007-12-13)
INDIANAPOLIS, IN
(wbaa) -
Indiana students made modest gains on the I-Step Plus exam this year. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Suellen Reed says scores improved by two-percent on both the Math and English portions of the standardized test.
Students in grades three through ten take the I-Step Plus.
It is used to assess school progress under the No Child Left Behind Act.
Locally, Burnett Creek Elementary School was one of the local schools to see the most improvement.
Scores were higher in each of its three grades.
Statewide, nearly 72-percent of students passed the English portion of the I-Step Plus, while roughly 74-percent passed the Math section.
