Purdue Flight Team Captures Trophy ST. JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA (wbaa) - Two Purdue students are taking home first place in the collegiate division of a four-day, all-female flight challenge.

The winners of the 31st annual Air Race Classic were announced last night.

Katie Sparrow and Marie Janus flew a Piper Warrior about 2,500 miles from Oklahoma City to St. John, New Brunswick, Canada.

It is the second straight year the Purdue team has come in first among colleges. The duo also placed first in the Piper division. They finished fourth overall.
