Purdue Seniors Compete in Air Race WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (wbaa) - Two aviation technology students from Purdue are taking flight Tuesday in a national air race.

Seniors Katie Sparrow and Marie Janus will take part in the 2007 Air Race Classic -- an all-female competition.

This year's flight starts in Oklahoma City and covers more than 2-thousand-5-hundred miles.

The competition dates back more than 70-years. Purdue teams have competed for the past 13.

A Purdue team won in 2006.
