Lawmakers look for plans to limit damage caused by Wall Street

ALBANY, NY (2008-09-30) The State Comptroller is warning today that the fall out from the financial crisis could cost the state $3.5 billion dollars in the next couple of years, and that job losses could reach 40,000.

Meanwhile, Governor Paterson has not yet decided whether to ask state lawmakers to return for a special session before elections, but he has asked them to a meeting later this week to discuss how to manage a growing budget deficit. WAMC's Capital Correspondent Karen DeWitt has more.
