(WAMC) - The New York State Museum has a reputation for hosting innovative exhibitions and programs. Among the museum's permanent exhibitions is "World Trade Center: Rescue, Recovery, Response" which documents the nation's worst terrorist attack. New additions have been added to the exhibit in commemoration of 9-11. Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.

The first parts of the exhibit opened up on the first anniversary of the September 11th attacks - much of the material can't be displayed all at once. Craig Williams is a Senior Historian at the New York State Museum - he says one of the new attractions is an actual panel that stood on Pier 94 from the Family Assistance Unit. The missing posters that are on display are the same ones we heard so much about in the days following 9-11. Below the missing posters is a collection of stuffed animals sent from Oklahoma City, which suffered a terrorist attack of its own... Williams says visitors are drawn to the Engine Six exhibit and an interview with firefighter and first-responder Billy Green.

The New York State Museum is the largest repository of material related to the September 11 attacks, and the aftermath. Hours are 9.30-5 every day.
