NY Will Have First Co-Current Disorder Care Center In The Nation
ALBANY, NY
(WAMC) -
Nearly 1.4 million people in New York State suffer from co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; however, those individuals rarely receive services that effectively address both. For years, the mental health and substance use systems of care have operated separately, and regulatory and financial barriers have restricted integration of these services. That is about to change. Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports that A first-in-the nation Center to treat co-current disorders is being established in New York.
