New cell tower activated along Adirondack highway ALBANY, NY (WAMC) - Verizon Wireless has activated the first of a dozen planned cell phone towers along the Adirondack Northway to fill a nearly 50-mile service gap along a remote stretch of the highway that connects Albany and Montreal.
