(WAMC) - According to one study, up to 20 percent of untreated people with anorexia die. It has the highest mortality rate of any psychological disorder. As we're shocked by photos of extreme anorexia, we admire those waif-like models who are just shy of that extreme. Today you're going to listen in on a roundtable discussion with four writers who contributed essays to Harriet Brown's new book, Feed Me: Writers Dish About Food, Eating, Body Image and Weight. And later, Harriet will weigh in with her thoughts about why our schools are helping fuel the anorexia crisis.

7:55 BodyImage Part 1

So what IS this fixation we have with how our bodies look? Some of the writers who contributed to the book - Feed Me - say it's a cultural sickness. And some say it's all about the money. Writers Dana Kinstler, Sari Botton, Rivka Tadjer and Lisa Romeo continue the discussion.

8:39 Body Image Part 2

And finally, let's hear from the book's editor. Harriet Brown is a professor at Syracuse University, a writer, and the mother of a daughter who was nearly killed by her anorexia.
