Former President Bill Clinton is expected to be in Chicago today to rally support and money for democratic candidates in the 6th and 8th district congressional races. The event will support Iraq War Vet Tammy Duckworth who's running in the 6th district and incumbent Democrat Melissa Bean in the 8th. It'll be held downtown at the Hilton sometime close to noon.The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee put the event together. A spokeswoman wouldn't say how much money Clinton's visit is expected to generate, though she says attendance should be somewhere between 300 and 500 people.
Clinton's trip to Chicago comes on the heels of a campaign stop from President Bush. Bush was in town week and a half ago supporting and raising money for State Senator Peter Roskam and David McSweeney--the Republican candidates in the same two house races. © Copyright 2012, Chicago Public Radio
