First Lady stumps for Sweeney SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (WAMC) - First Lady Laura Bush was in the Capital Region yesterday. Her quick pass-through was part of a national tour to both promote her husbands Help America's Youth Initiatives and to stump for Republican Congressmen in key races. She spoke at a fund-raiser in Saratoga Springs in support of Congressman John Sweeney, who faces democratic challenger Kirsten Gillibrand in next month's election.
