Valda Boyd Ford is the CEO of the Nebraska-based Center for Human Diversity - she came to Albany to talk about health care reform as it impacts and engages minority and immigrant communities. Ford says those who need help the most are always last to receive information of value. She believes the way to get people involved is for someone in the community to become "learn-ed" - Ford tells WAMC that she would like to see, in her lifetime, affordable health care made available to every person in the United States.
The Immigrant Women's Health Initiative is a program of the Education Fund of Family Planning Advocates of New York State.
The Center for Human Diversity is a nationally recognized leader in improving communications between people of different racial, ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds.
