Alperovitz has had a distinguished career as a historian, political economist, activist, writer, and government official. In his new book, What Then Must We Do: Straight Talk about the Next American Revolution, he argues that we must address the crises we face by building alternative systems that put the highest value on democracy and sustainability. Alperovitz is a founding principal of the Democracy Collaborative, which is especially well known for its development of a series of worker-owned businesses in Cleveland.
