Please join Dutchess Land Conservancy, Cornell University Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, Cary Institute and the NY Master Forest Owner Program Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, 2715 Route 44, Millbrook, NY.
This workshop will provide the opportunity for local landowners to meet with trained Cornell Master Forest Owner (MFO) volunteers and staff from Cornell University and Cornell Cooperative Extension, Dutchess Land Conservancy and the Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies. Participants will learn strategies and resources to help them better manage their property to meet land management objectives. The MFO volunteers can also arrange for a free woods walk of forest owner properties to help owners find the resources they need to achieve their goals. In addition, the workshop provides a great opportunity to learn more about local land conservation and ecosystem research in the Hudson Valley. Anyone with an interest in forest stewardship, or interested in becoming a trained MFO Volunteer, is especially encouraged to attend! Details and schedule available at http://dutchessland.org/managing-private-woodlots/
Registration Cost: $10 to cover breakfast items and light lunch. Please pre-register by October 4, at: http://dutchessmfo.eventbrite.com.
