Experts weigh in on election races
(2008-11-03)
(WABE) - As the rest of Georgia's voters head to the polls tomorrow, some political experts say many of the races are too close to call.

Which Presidential candidate will carry Georgia? The answer gets less clear by the day. Alan Abramowitz is a political science professor at Emory University.

ABRAMOWITZ : "McCain has been leading in most of the polls in Georgia. But his margin is much smaller than what it was a few weeks ago."

Obama's not the only Democrat whose chances of winning Georgia are on the rise. US Senate challenger Jim Martin is running very close to Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss.

But not all Georgia Democrats have momentum. David Scott of Atlanta is up against Republican Deborah Honeycutt in Georgia's 13th Congressional District. University of Georgia political expert Charles Bullock.

BULLOCK: "There was one poll that I saw which showed this to be a contest of about 4 percentage points with Scott ahead. But that could be an interesting one to keep an eye on."

Scott has been in Congress since 2003 but Honeycutt has raised more than 4 million dollars in campaign funds.
