Clayton, SACS Spell Out Agreement on Accreditation Terms
(2008-09-23)
(WABE) - The Clayton County School Board unanimously adopted a strategic plan presented by Superintendent John Thompson aimed towards achieving the eight
performance mandates needed for reinstatement of the system's
accreditation.

Marci Fluellen of Lovejoy has a child graduating in June. She says
the School Board is key to getting back accreditation.

"The Board has to work in unity and everything hinges on this.
There was a promise but there's still not unity amongst the board. All voices need to find unity," she said.

Thompson's plan calls for the institution of an ethics policy and a
financial audit and training for school board members.

If all eight mandates are met, Clayton seniors will be able to graduate
from an accredited school system.
