Georgia Tech is no stranger when it comes to top college rankings. But it has made it to the top in one ranking. Hispanic Business Magazine recently named Georgia Tech as the Top Engineering School' for Hispanic students in the nation. With 888 students, Hispanics are the fastest-growing minority segment on campus. The school's Gouizeta Foundation has made recruiting Hispanics a top priority. Those are main reasons behind the school's ranking.
Andres Garcia is a Professor of Engineering at Georgia Tech. He says the ranking supports what he's noticed over the past several years.
"I have seen that increase in both my graduate and undergrad courses, as well as on the grad students who apply to our program, so I think it is having an impact, he said.
Following Georgia Tech on Hispanic Business Magazine's list is Indiana's Purdue University. M-I-T placed fifth.
