Judge rules in favor of GA voting machines
(2008-09-09)
(WABE) - Georgia won't have to make any changes to its electronic voting machines.

That's because a Fulton County Judge ruled against a group that doesn't trust Georgia's voting machines.

Fulton Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson ruled in favor of Georgia's Secretary of State's Office. Lawyers for the office argued a group called Voter GA, which brought the suit, had no documents proving any fraud occurred with the state's voting machines.

Voter GA argued Georgia's machines can't produce an independent audit trail to track every vote.

Outside of court, group founder Garland Favorito said he was not satisfied with the judge's ruling.

FAVORITO: We'll get a written ruling and be able to go through point by point to see if the rulings are as we expected or they look understandable. If not, then our attorneys will want to appeal this to the Georgia Supreme Court.

Whether or not the group appeals, Georgia will not have to make any changes for statewide general election in November.
