State GOP Chair Disputes Georgia Right to Life Assessment of Gubernatorial Candidate Karen Handel
Earlier this week, GRTL president Daniel Becker endorsed five of the Republican candidates for Governor; but not Handel.
In Becker's words, "she does not meet the 21st century demands of being pro-life." One reason: Handel has said she opposes abortion, with three exceptions: rape; incest; or to save the life of the mother.
Thursday, June 10th, at an Atlanta Press Club forum, moderator Denis O'Hayer of WABE News asked Everhart if she agrees that someone who allows for those three exceptions cannot be considered pro-life.
Everhart appeared at the Press Club forum with Georgia Democratic Party chair Jane Kidd. What follows is the entire exchange on the subject of abortion and the influence advocacy groups have on both parties in Georgia.
