Worldwide Market Carries Coke in 3Q
ATLANTA, GA
(WABE) -
For the third quarter, Coke earned 1-point-eight billion dollars on 8-billion in sales, leaving analysts with mixed reactions.
US sales overall were sluggish, but more people across the world are reaching for a Coke. That led Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent to proclaim:
"We have achieved our revenue and profit targets for the first nine months of the year, and we remain committed to our long-term growth model going forward."
China, India, Brazil and Mexico showed the biggest gains for the world's largest soft drink company. Sales abroad account for about 85% of Coke's revenues.
Coke's non-carbonated lineup--such as bottled water, sports drinks and juices--also showed sales gains.
