Mayoral Voters Mull Runoff Choices
"I voted, but I don't know the outcome - who won?! Who's our mayor?"
Norwood won 46 to 36 over the candidate that Waters voted for - Reed. She's surprised by the size of the margin, and muses over a possible developing political landscape:
"...hmmmm - oh, I see... [laughs]... my first thought is that we're going to have a total Republican government [laughs]: Georgia, Atlanta - I don't know if that's good or bad.
Interviewer: "Do you think Mary Norwood's going to take the runoff?"
Waters: "I think, with that kind of percentage, most probably."
Waters says she'll likely vote for Reed again.
Alfred Wiley, who also says he voted for Reed, says the outcome didn't surprise him:
"...I think it's expected, because both of them are good candidates..."
...and plans to vote for Reed again.
Carolyn Williams says she voted for Norwood, "...because she was the better candidate," but isn't certain if she'll cast another ballot next month:
"...I'm not sure I hope she wins, Williams said.

In our unscientific survey at the midtown MARTA station, most of the people that WABE spoke with said they'd voted and plan to vote again - but Susanne Waters hadn't heard the results:null
