Congressman Lewis assures passage of health care reform and jobs bill
ATLANTA, GA
(WABE) -
Today, President Obama and U.S. House Republicans met to see how both political parties can work together to pass health care reform and other major initiatives.
The meeting comes after Mr. Obama used his State of the Union Speech to try and end the partisanship in the health care debate.
In Atlanta today, Georgia Congressman John Lewis, a Democrat, said the division between the parties is not as bad as advertised.
LEWIS: "Sometimes you may see a little drama. You know it's two different political parties and we all don't agree on everything but we're going to work together. We're going to pass health care."
Lewis also seemed confident the Senate would pass the jobs bill that has already gone through the House. © Copyright 2012, WABE
