WABE's Charles Edwards reports
Diane Tremble says the pride she once had about her Oakland City neighborhood all but died like many former home owners here. Many of those properties are bank owned, vacant and have become magnets for drugs and crime.
TREMBLE: "We'd like to see these houses with people in them."
Tremble and other residents say they've complained to Atlanta's code enforcement division to no avail. Norwood wants to fix that.
NORWOOD: We need to go after the properties that are the most harmful to the community and those are properties that are abandoned."
Norwood wants a code enforcement board.
The plan sounds good to Diane Tremble. She, like many Norwood supporters, says the city councilwoman has earned their trust through years of community outreach.
