Falcons Don't Make Playoffs But Make Franchise History A (WABE) - Although the team was out of the playoffs, The Atlanta Falcons still had one more feat to accomplish...something that had never been done in the team's history.
WABE's Rose Scott has the story:

It took more than 4 decades but it's an issue that can finally be put to rest.
The Atlanta Falcons finally had two consecutive winning seasons.
Falcons head Coach Mike Smith:
((I'm very very happen for the city of Atlanta it's something we want to have happen))

Smith says it's okay to celebrate the accomplishment for now but improving for next season is top priority.
Falcons beat writer Josh Bagrinksy with Score Atlanta Sports Magazine says that means the team will be busy in this off season:

((certainly in the secondary,you need a a cornerback and a safety and there are holes on the offensive line))

Meanwhile head coach Smith says addressing the team's needs and finding the right players is key:
((we want to be a relevant football year in and year out..discussions for the playoffs))

The Falcons finished the season with 9 wins and 7 losses.
