Atlanta Host World Cup Challenge Futbol Match
ATLANTA, GA
(WABE) -
Think of this match-up as the Braves taking on the New York Yankees there's no rivalry because the teams play in different leagues but it's a rare opportunity to see World Cup caliber players:
((I wouldn't call once in a lifetime but once in a very long period of time before we see this level live in person))
Rick Skrivin is the executive director of the Georgia State Soccer Association.
He's not alone in thinking Atlanta could become America's soccer capital.
Skrivin says the Georgia Dome and the city of Atlanta easily fit the criteria to host a World Cup match:
((I think we've proven that in hosting the Olympics to do that))
But the city is up against 36 others to become one of the sites that would be a host if the U.S wins a bid for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.
