Palin to Visit Peach State for Handel ATLANTA, GA (WABE) - Sarah Palin will visit metro Atlanta the day before the Republican runoff for governor.

The former Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska governor will appear with Karen Handel on August 9th. The visit is the latest in a series of stops that Palin is making for conservative candidates across the country.

Handel spokesman Dan McClagen says, "There's just a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for Governor Palin as an outsider Reformer. Her message blends well with Karen's message."

McClagen is hopeful the event will energize the electorate and seal the deal for Handel in the upcoming runoff.

"It's really going to bring some increased enthusiasm. I think it's just going to be terrific for the campaign. The timing couldn't be better."

McClagen says the event will be held from noon to one, but the campaign is still looking for a large venue to accommodate the expected crowds. Palin's endorsement helped Handel surge ahead in the polls and snag the top spot in the July 20th primary.
