ATLANTA, GA
(WABE) -
Georgia lawmakers are quickly writing a bill to ban the release of graphic crime scene photos of nude murder victims. The bill is a reaction to an Open Records request from Hustler magazine; which wants to use the crime scene photos of hiker Meredith Emerson, who was raped and murdered in early 2008. WABE's Denis O'Hayer spoke with Atlanta attorney and WABE legal analyst Page Pate; who said it might be difficult to write a bill that respects both the family's privacy and the First Amendment.
