Investigation starts into deadly Athens plane crash
Names have not been released.
The plane, a 1957 Fuji, crashed at 10:20 AM shortly after departure from Ben Epps Airport. Kathleen Bergen with the Federal Aviation Administration says
investigators were sent to the scene.
BERGEN: "We look at the aircraft and whether it was maintained properly, (we look at) the pilots; their experience and qualifications to fly the plane, the weather, the conditions at the airport anything and everything that could have played a role."
The National Transportation Safety Board will determine what caused the crash.
Fujis are also known as warbirds because they were used in wars. Now, you see them mostly at airshows and other exhibitions. © Copyright 2012, WABE

An investigation is underway in Athens where a small plane crashed this morning destroying the aircraft and killing its two passengers.Names have not been released.
