Shelter Kits from Georgia to Help Haiti Rebuild
Kip Scheidler, Senior Director for Global Disaster Response at Habitat, says the kits are simple, but contain items necessary for rebuilding.
"Inside them are two five-gallon buckets, a tarp and tools tools the families can use to break down the rubble that might be on their land."
Each kit costs about $250 to put together.
Scheidler says there's some urgency to get the kits to Haiti, as the country's rainy season has begun early.
He says the earthquake destroyed or seriously damaged hundreds of thousands of homes and many Haitians are living underneath little more than a blanket.
