Atlanta
Runoff To Decide Next Atlanta City Council President
ATLANTA, GA
(WABE) -
The two candidates Ceasar Mitchell and Claire Mueller are headed into a runoff.
But as history shows when it comes to runoff elections:
((that is much more difficult to get voters to return in a runoff election in a purely local election))
Georgia State professor Harvey Neumann is in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. When you consider the problems mayoral candidates face raising money Neumann says:
((take that down to the council president's race they have even less money to spend and so you have to make your bullets count and simply mailing something to all the voters is the best you can hope for if you can mount that type of advertising costs))
According to their latest campaign finance disclosure reports, to date Ceasar Mitchell has raised nearly 2-hundred and 80 thousand dollars and Claire Mueller just over 1-hundred and 37 thousand.
