Neighborhood Summit Brings Metro Citizens, Concerns, Together
The issues facing Coweta County aren't all that different from those in Clayton County or most of the metro area, says Leslie Grady of the Civic League for Regional Atlanta.
"How is safety controlled? Is it at the county level? Is it at the state? Where do the dollars come from? Who makes the decisions? How do you compare to the larger counties near you, or the smaller?"
Answering those questions is the goal of the first Regional Neighborhood Summit. With forums on everything from creating lasting civic organizations to effectively using technology Grady says the overall goal is to create a "regional citizen."
"It's someone who understands kind of the interconnection between where they live, work and play."
Organizers hope to make the summit an annual event. Jim Burress, WABE News.
