Atlanta Rally Speaks Against Anti-gay Violence
"I'm here today to stand in solidarity with Brandon White!" says a young woman through a megaphone on the steps of Iconium Baptist Church.
Fifth District US Congressman John Lewis called on the three suspects to apologize not just to White, but also to all Atlantans.
"Atlanta is the home of the civil rights movement-- the home of Martin Luther King, Jr.," says Lewis. "They should say 'I'm sorry,' and appeal to young people not to go down the same road they've traveled."
Brandon White's attack was captured on video and posted to You Tube, which is helping law enforcement find and arrest the attackers.
Just hours before the rally, the Atlanta Police Department said its Fugitive Task Force arrested one suspect, identified as 18-year-old Christopher Cain. He's charged with aggravated assault and robbery.
Police have also identified two other suspects, whose identities are being withheld.
