Atlanta Public Schools Head Talks About Improvement, Budget Shortfalls

ATLANTA, GA

The performance of the Atlanta Public School system has, by several standards, shown marked improvement in the ten years since Beverly Hall has been its superintendent. Still, recent results showed that the district failed to meet "Adequate Yearly Progress," (AYP) as defined by the "No Child Left Behind" act--with 60 percent of Atlanta high schools falling short. When Hall spoke with WABE's Steve Goss, she outlined the system's plan to improve.
