Atlanta
... at least they like our accents.
Well, at least we're not Detroit.
The website TripAdvisor.com says that's the place most travelers want to avoid at all costs. Sunny L.A. is second, and Atlanta rounds out the bottom three.
More than 3,400 people responded to the survey. They chose New York and San Francisco as places they most want to visit, with Chicago and Boston tying for third.
"I think what you have to do is put it in perspective."
That's William Pate, President and CEO of the Atlanta Convention and Visitor's Bureau. He takes the survey with a grain of salt and a glass of sweet tea.
"We have 37-million people who vote every year to bring their tourist dollars to Atlanta, and to us, those are the votes that really count."
Despite respondents' apparent dislike for Atlanta, they do favor the way we talk. The same travelers who don't want to come here voted Atlantans as having the nicest accents. Can y'all believe that?
