Two More Cases of Swine Flu Confirmed in Georgia
WABE's Odette Yousef reports.
One is a 3-year old boy in Cobb County, and the other is a 36-year old pregnant woman in DeKalb County. State officials, including Governor Sonny Perdue, say the numbers should not cause undo alarm:
PERDUE: I don't think there's any cause for a panic. It's just a cause for good, common-sense hygiene, washing your hands, don't be around crowds if you don't have to, and to care for your own selves.
The 3-year old may have been exposed to the disease through a relative who traveled recently to Mexico. All his family members are on antivirals, and are staying home. The child does not attend school.
It's unclear how the DeKalb County woman may have contracted the virus. She has an 8-year old child who was ill previously, but is better now, and was not tested for the disease. County officials say that child's school has not been closed.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are still testing another probable case, of an eight-year old in Clayton County.
